Sampling Valve This is a sampling valve designed and manufactured for a major oil analysis company. This valve would be installed in an engine port of a diesel engine or in gear boxes and is used to gather a small sample of engine oil for analysis. Suburban designed the concept, built prototypes, manufactures everything except the chain and o-rings, assembles, and packages individually. There are various sizes of this valve and different plating options.

Moisture Sensors Suburban is heavilly involved in the agricultural equipment industry. This customer was looking for a company to manufacture its new line of moisture sensors for hay balers. Moisture is critical in hay baling operations, too much and fermentation will cause combustion and rot. Farmers can not afford to wait for the hay to completely dry out, so a special chemical, is sprayed during baling to maintain freshness and prevent combustion. The moisture sensor housing consists of a delrin housing, containing the moisture sensor electronics, and a steel shaft with star-shaped probe wheel which contacts the hay as it travels through the baler. Electronics in the sensor can tell the moisture content of the hay and adjust the measure of chemical applied. Suburban is responsible for the manufacture, assembly, and preliminary machanical testing of components making up this unit.

Lubrication Systems Suburban was approached by the United States Navy in 1992 and was asked to develop a self-contained unit capable of lubricating the various elevators located aboard all aircraft carriers and other support ships. The Navy Engineers had seen our LubeMinder® advertised on this web site. After a few months of development, the Carl Vincent was the first carrier to be refitted with the new system. Now most carriers and some support ships, have our systems installed. December of 2007 the Navy took delivery of 4 specialized automatic grease systems for elevator lock & stanchion lubrication along with hanger bay door lubrication. These systems integrate with the ships computers to provide monitoring and suggested preventive maintenance of these critical ship components.

Oxygen Analysis Manifold This cool-looking part is an oxygen analysis manifold built for a medical device company. Suburban was brought in during the early design stages to help design a manifold to fit the package size available. This unit has four independent channels solenoid controlled and operates in a pure oxygen atmosphere. Suburban manufactureds the manifold body, the spools and pistons, the orifices and covers, and assembles, tests, serializes, and certifies each unit.

Unloader Valves We helped in the design and manufacture of Unloader Assemblies, such as shown here, for their custom compressor line. All machined parts are solid brass. Bores are super finished to a mirror-finish. Each unit is assembled and tested in our facility before shipment. There are many different sizes and styles of unloaders, depending of the horsepower and head configuration of the compressor.
