| Suburban is heavilly involved in the agricultural equipment industry. Harvest Tec was looking for a company to manufacture its new line of moisture sensors for hay balers. Moisture is critical in hay baling operations, too much and fermentation will cause combustion and rot. Farmers can not afford to wait for the hay to completely dry out, so a special chemical, developed by Harvest tec, is sprayed during baling to maintain freshness and prevent combustion. |

The moisture sensor housing consists of a delrin housing, containing the moisture sensor electronics, and a steel shaft with star-shaped probe wheel which contacts the hay as it travels through the baler. Electronics in the sensor can tell the moisture content of the hay and adjust the measure of chemical applied.
Suburban is responsible for the manufacture, assembly, and preliminary machanical testing of components making up this unit.
Bacause of the success of this unit, Suburban has been given the opportunity to be involved in many other systems being developed by Harvest Tec. |
