READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLATION
WARNING
BEFORE SERVICING OR WORKING ON ANY COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEM COMPONENTS, USE THE MANUFACTURES MANDATORY SAFETY SHUT DOWN PROCEDURE FOR ALL COMPONENTS.
THIS INCLUDES DISCONNECTING ELECTRICAL POWER AND USING REQUIRED SAFETY LOCKOUT TAGS.
AIR PRESSURE IN SYSTEM MUST BE BLED DOWN TO ZERO-ALWAYS USE THE PRESSURE GAGE TO VERIFY.
SAFETY GLASSES MUST BE WORN.
A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN MUST DO ALL ELECTRICAL WORK, AND ALL STATE AND LOCAL CODES MUST BE FOLLOWED.
TEFLON PIPE SEALANT SHOULD BE USED ON ALL PIPE FITTINGS.
NOTE: IF YOU NEED HELP WITH ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE CALL TOLL FREE 1-800-782-5752 AND ASK FOR THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT. |

The Moisture Minder® drain valve is a unique product for automatically draining condensed water and oil from air compressors up to 30 hp. The pressure drop and air loss normally associated with float, electric solenoid or diaphragm valves is not present. The Moisture Minder® can be mounted above the bottom of the tank on the wall or on the motor-pump base plate, this allows for easier installation. The valve is operated by teeing into the unloader line and is actuated every time the compressor cycles on and off. When the compressor is running, air pressure from the unloader line actuates a internal piston and ball check assembly that allows water to enter the valve from the bottom of the tank, this water is forced up into the stainless tank on top of the drain valve. When the compressor shuts off and pressure is bled away from the unloader line the, stored water in the stainless tank is ejected
Mounting the drain valve: install the fittings as shown in photo #1. Note the short pieces of tubing shown are for reference only.
¼ straight male connector
90 degree elbow fittings (2)
¼ tee (note install brass tube inserts into end of nylon tube before installing, to prevent crushing of tube
1/8 straight male connector for drain line

When mounting the drain valve to the compressor - motor/pump base plate
Drill a ¼ diameter hole and mount the clamp bracket to base plate as shown with a ¼ cap screw, lock washer and nut. (See photo # 2)
When mounting the drain valve to a wall. Pick a spot that is high enough to get a 5-gallon pail underneath the valve. Drill a 5/16 diameter hole for the plastic wall anchor. Install the wall anchor and secure bracket with the screw. (See photo #3)
Install the drain valve in the clamp and secure. Connect the tubing from the strainer fitting (#1) to the water inlet side of the drain valve (#2). For compressors that have a pressure switch unloader, the tee fitting (#3) needs to be spliced into the unloader line figure (C.). Compressors that have a centrifugal unloader, the tee will need to be spliced in at location (D). Next connect the nylon tubing from this tee and connect to the elbow fitting on the air signal side of the drain valve. The 1/8 fitting may be installed in the drain or discharge port of the valve and routed to a pail or directly to a drain. (Note check with state ordinances about proper disposal of compressor condensate).
