Cut to Length

Damaged cylinder rods and seals are an ongoing problem on hydraulic equipment. Dents and gouges on rods reduce seal and gland life and allow contaminates into the system. Research has shown that the damage repair is ten times the cost of prevention.

Standard 1050 Sidewinder, cut to length and clamped in place, takes minutes to install and is a fraction of the cost of custom bellows. Sidewinder can be installed without any disassembly.

How to determine size

1. Extend cylinder rod to maximum length.
2. Measure stroke and rod end barrel diameter.
3. Choose a size same, or larger than I.D. of barrel.
4. Cut length 3-4“ longer than stroke.
5. Apply over barrel, and tighten with worm gear
   clamp.
6. Fold rod end over, and tighten with worm gear
   clamp.
7. Cycle the cylinder to insure proper function.
