RETURN ON INVESTMENT:

save big on installation costs with the diamondback pro sleeve

Purchasing a new piece of hydraulic equipment is a major investment for any business.

With the price of new machines ranging anywhere from the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars, mitigating associated risks is of paramount importance to any end consumer

To ensure operability, durability, and longevity, heavy equipment with integrated hydraulic systems rely on integrating protective covers or sleeves.

Most heavy machinery operates in harsh conditions, and protecting hydraulic systems means safeguarding against:

  • UV
  • Heat
  • Moisture
  • Molten metal splash
  • Abrasion
  • And more
Python's Diamondback Pro series of sleeves – tested in more than 1.7 million abrasion cycles – provides next-level pin-hole and burst protection

In addition, operators save up to 80% on installation costs when compared to standard nylon sleeves. This savings can be credited to the fact the Diamondback Pro boasts the easiest installation of any protective sleeve on the market.

The Diamondback PRO sleeve allows a single assembler to easily install long lengths of sleeve in a fraction of the time it takes for competing sleeves, greatly reducing or eliminating fatigue.

Hose shops can expect:

  • Reduce sleeve installation times by up to 80%
  • Eliminate need for multiple assemblers
  • Reduce install costs and increase profits

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE | ROI CALCULATOR

To use the ROI calculator above, you’ll need to have a few details about your current solution, including:

      1. Overhead Labor Cost Per Hour of Your Sleeve

The overhead labor cost per hour includes the costs associated with having your sleeve installed on the machine. (This includes the labor expense of having a shop install them, or having your own worker do so.)

In the example above, the overhead labor cost per hour is $75.

      2. Length of Current Sleeve (in feet)

In order to get an accurate estimate of savings, ensure this is displayed in feet.

For our example, this consumer's sleeve length was 17 feet long.

      3. Current Sleeve - Quantity of Sleeves Applied Per Year

Since most OEMs produce hundreds of pieces of equipment per year, even small savings has a compounding effect. This number helps calculate the annual savings per year of switching from a standard solution to the Diamondback Pro sleeve.

In our example, this consumer applies 545 sleeves on any given year.

      4. Time to Apply One Current Sleeve (in minutes)

Depending on the brand and style, sleeves and covers for hydraulic systems can be very labor and time intensive to install.

For the calculator app above, this metric is multiplied by the number of sleeves per year to get an average amount of time spent installing covers per year.

For the example above, this client took 9 minutes per sleeve to install.

      5. Number of People Applying Current Sleeve

Depending on the shop or resources available, multiple people may be helping install a protective cover.

For our example, this client has 1 person applying the sleeve.

      6. Cost Per Foot of Current Sleeve

To get an accurate depiction of the potential savings, this number should be written out down to the cent.

For our example, the current sleeve cost is $0.97 per foot.

      7. Time to Apply One Diamondback Pro Sleeve

The Diamondback Pro sleeves feature one of the fastest installation times. On average, it should take a minute or less to install the Diamondback Pro sleeve.

From our example, it's clear that the Diamondback Pro can be installed in a fraction of the time it takes to install a different solution.

      8. Number of People Applying Diamondback Pro Sleeve

The Diamondback Pro sleeve was designed with OEMs and consumers in mind, and only one person is needed to install it.

Compared to other sleeves that may take several people several hours to install, the Diamondback Pro can be fitted by one person in under an hour.

      9. Cost of Diamondback Pro Sleeve Per Foot.

While the cost of the Diamondback Pro sleeve will depend on the length and quantity you’re purchasing, for our example, this client was charged $1.03 per foot.

After inputting your email and details about your current solution against the Diamondback Pro, hit “enter” to calculate the annual savings, annual labor hours saved, net savings per part, and the monthly lost opportunity by delaying.

Annual Savings

The annual savings represents the material and labor costs that would be saved by switching to the Diamondback Pro. This is calculated by taking the Net Savings Per Part and multiplying it against your average annual quantity.

For our example, this consumer would save $4,894 annually.

Annual Labor Hours Saved

The annual labor hours saved represents the total amount of time saved in any given year by switching to the Diamondback Pro sleeve.

Annual labor hours saved are calculated by first multiplying the annual quantity of sleeves integrated by the amount of time and number of people required, then subtracting the product of the same metrics (annual quantity of sleeves by the number of people and time required) of the Diamondback Pro sleeve.

For our example, this customer would save a total of 73 hours per year (or $5,475 annually).

Net Savings Per Part

Net savings per part is calculated by subtracting the overhead cost per part associated with your current solution from that of the Diamondback Pro.

In the example above, this client is saving nearly $9 per part.

Monthly Lost Opportunity by Delaying

Each month you wait to install the Diamondback Pro sleeve is a missed opportunity cost. The Monthly Lost Opportunity by Delaying metric shows the amount of monthly savings that is being forgone by installing a competitor's sleeve.

In the example above, this client is missing out on $407 in savings per month.
